NEW DELHI, November 11: Delhi Basketball Association (DBA) will be hosting the Golden Jubilee Senior National Basketball Championship at the Talkatora Indoor Stadium from December 25 to January 1. The event, to be sponsored by Pepsi Foods Ltd, is worth Rs. 10 lakh. So far the DBA has recieved entries from 26 affiliated units, which include the Services and Railways. DBA has set up a committee under the patronage of Umesh Sood and Amrish Kaushik. The committee, responsible for the conduct of the tournament, will be chaired by Sudhanshu Mittal. He will be assisted by Chander Mohan (joint chairman), Dr D.R. Saini (vice-chairman) and Harish Sharma (organising secretary). Various sub-committees have also been formed for the smooth conduct of the championship.Taekwon-do meetThe 13th taekwon-do championship (north region) for schools only, will be held from November 26 to 28 at Mount St Mary's School auditorium (Delhi Cantt). The championship will be organised on the knock-out basis and for pee-wee groups under-8, u-10 and juniors under-14 only. Entries close HL Kolhi, secretary and Subhash Ranga, organising secretary, Mount St Mary's School, 75 Parade Road, Delhi Cantt between 8.30 to 13 hours on November 24.
