NEW DELHI, February 3: Out of the three matches billed for the day in the Delhi Hockey Championships at the Shivaji Stadium here on Monday, only one was played while the other two ended in walk-overs.

Tie-breaker proved to be the undoing of Youngsters Club who lost to Delhi Sports 1-4 in the tie-breaker after the two teams were locked goalless at the end of regulation time.

Sushil Kumar, Iqbal, Sudhir and Devinder scored for Delhi Sports while Surinder was the lone scorer for Youngsters club.

Delhi Transport Undertaking earned a walk-over Punjab Hawks while Dogra Regiment got a walk-over Swami Anand Muni Club in the other two matches.

Cricket for blind

A cricket Tournament for the blind, organised by the National Association of Apex Clubs of India, will be held at Ludhiana from April 23 to 26, 1998. A chess tournament for blind will be held at Calcutta from March 20 to 22. Entries which close on February 20 may be sent to R.P.Singh, 143 Vidyut Vihar, Ring road, New Delhi or Ashish Pandit, 41A Naktala Road, Calcutta.
