Former Dehradun mayor Manorama Sharma has written a letter to Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi, complaining that besides other AICC and PCC members, she was also denied a pass to attend the meet which he had held during his three-day trip to the state.

“We are really demoralised due to continuous defeats in various elections. There is a serious conspiracy to damage the Congress. Still, some manipulators are active in New Delhi in collusion with the BJP,” said Sharma’s letter. She accused the PCC of not working properly and not taking along all the Congress workers. All honest and dedicated workers had been cornered, she added.

The same sentiment has been aired by Congressmen from other parts of the state too.

During his 15-minute interaction with the PCC members, it was conveyed to Rahul that there was a crisis within the party. Rahul is learnt to have told the Congressmen to sink their differences and get united for the Lok Sabha polls.

Sources said he had told party co-incharge for Uttarakhand Bhola Pandey to take action against those responsible for creating indiscipline in the state unit of the party.
