CHENNAI, Feb 1: A day after his stupendous century went in vain, Sachin Tendulkar was yet to get over the shock of the 12-run first Test defeat against Pakistan here yesterday, but India had much to cheer for as the master batsman was well on the road to recovery from his back strain.

Tendulkar was feeling much better after the night’s rest and said he would to be at the nets tomorrow in Delhi.

“I feel better and the pain and cramps have not recurred so far,” Tendulkar said here today before the team’s departure for Delhi.

Asked when he began experiencing the back spasm, he said, “soon after tea, I felt pain on the right side of my back. It persisted and cramps affected me badly. From my back it travelled to my right heel and it became unbearable.”

“I had treatment and after last night’s rest, I feel better,” he said.
