NEW DELHI, NOV 19: Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) today demanded promulgation of "financial emergency" in Uttar Pradesh.

"The financial condition of UP is in such a bad shape that the State Government has even failed to pay the salaries of the Government employees for the month of October and stopped the pension of the retired employees," RLD spokesman Dhirendra Pratap told reporters here.

Criticising State Chief Minister Ram Prakash Gupta for having a "jumbo-size ministry", Pratap said, "Last month, the money spent on the entertainment of State Ministers alone was Rs 27 crore. It is total waste of State funds."
