Even as the BCCI battles Zee in Supreme Court over the TV rights issue, Prasar Bharati CEO today said his corporation had struck a deal with the cricket board to telecast and distribute the Test series against Australia, in India, from October 6.
Sony TV, it is learnt, will beam the matches abroad.
Sarma said Prasar Bharati has also bagged the rights to telecast the India-South Africa series in November and the India-Pakistan match-up early next year.
All these matches will be telecast on DD’s National and Sports channels.
According to Sarma, Prasar Bharati will pay Rs 3 crore per day of the match to BCCI and plans to earn Rs 5 crore every day from advertising revenue.
