The Department of Company Affairs (DCA) will submit its final report on the alleged violation of the Companies Act by Reliance Petroleum Limited (RPL) next month to the Delhi High Court. This is in response to a directive by the court to a petition filed by Subramanyam Swamy on the issue. The petition will come up for hearing on August 20.
Sources said that the Delhi High Court has directed DCA to file its final findings to the inspection ordered by the department under section 209A of the Companies Act. DCA is in the process of examining the 600-page report submitted to it by the Registrar of Companies and will be taken a final view by August. The allegations pertained to suppression of material information from its shareholders and circulation of two different sets of annual accounts one for its shareholders and other for government authorities.
