Panchkula Deputy Commissioner R K Kataria is in trouble. He has drawn the ire of the Punjab and Haryana High Court for allegedly criticising its Division Bench. The court has recommended to transfer him.
Justice Uma Nath Singh expressed his anger during the resumed hearing of a public interest litigation (PIL), concerning a National Highway-22 project, on Friday. He told the law officer representing the Haryana government: “We have heard that your deputy commissioner is criticising the Bench. Transfer him immediately. We will make sure he goes out. Whatever is going on outside, comes to us. We will pass strictures against him to be added in his annual confidential report (ACR).” The DC has been directed to remain present in the court on December 16, the next date of hearing.
