VADODARA, July 16: The district collector has attached the house of manager of the Mahavir Petroleum (Kerosene depot), one of the main kerosene dealers of the city, who was accused of selling kerosene on the black market recently.

Following repeated complaints against the accused company, the district supply officials had conducted an inspection of the depot and registered a case under the Prevention of Black Marketing (PBM) Act against its manager Ilesh Kumar J Chudgar about two months ago. A case under Section 3(2) of the PBM was registered against him on April 7.

However, an official spokesman said since Chudgar never appeared before the DSO, the district collector declared him absconder. Chudgar, according to the spokesman, neither responded to DSO nor repeated police summons since. Finally, the district collector served a notice on him to present himself before the court within 35 days lest his house in the said area would be attached, said the spokesman.

According to officials, if Chudgar still does not appear before the district magistrate within next 30 days, his house would be auctioned by DSO, beside other legal action.

It may be recalled that the house of Ranjit Singh Gill, the owner of Demla Enterprises, Makarpura, who was also found guilty of selling kerosene in black market recently, had been attached in a similar case on July 7.
