A day after absconding Independent legislator Akhilesh Singh withdrew support to the Mayawati government, police today attached his property in Lucknow and also at Rae Bareilly, his native place.

The former Congress legislator, who played a key role in engineering a split in the party and had increased Mayawati’s kitty of MLAs by seven legislators, has been on the run for the last couple of months, for despite his efforts Mayawati had not allowed him to join the BSP.

Akhilesh, who has come out in open revolt against the CM and alleged that she could even murder him, said on phone from an undisclosed destination: ‘‘I have given it in writing to court that she is baying for my blood and if I am murdered she should be dragged to court..I warn her not to intimidate legislators and buy their support. Her government will not last forever and she is not God.’’

He further alleged that Mayawati had invoked POTA against Raja Bhaiyya, his 83-year-old father and his brother because Raja had raised the banner of revolt against her government. ‘‘She can go to any extent to settle personal scores,” he said.
