SRINAGAR, DEC 7: Twenty-three persons were injured, seven of them critically, when a militants hurled a grenade on a police patrol, which missed the intended target at the general bus stand in north Kashmir today on the 10th day of the ceasefire.

One special police officer was among the injured persons. The seriously injured have been shifted to Srinagar hospital.

In other militancy-related incidents, one Muhammad Ayub Dar, resident of Ashmuji, Kulgam in Anantnag was abducted from his house. He is said to be areleased militant of the Hizbul Mujahideen.

Yesterday evening, militants kidnapped Sajjad Ahmed Wani, resident of Dangerpora,Pulwama near local masjid, while he was on his way to home.However, Wani gave a slip to the kidnappers and returned safely.

Among the eight persons injured yesterday at Sopore in Baramulla, one NazirAhmed Dar of Seerjageer succumbed to his injuries in SKIMS hospital.

However, other districts reportedly remained peaceful today.
