Dawood Ibrahim is in Washington’s sights and the US would like to see individuals like him apprehended, said US Ambassador David Mulford.
Speaking at an event organised by the Association of Foreign Affairs Writers here, Mulford said, ‘‘Individuals like him (Dawood), we would like to see them apprehended… He is very much in our sights.’’
India had sought the deportation of Dawood and 29 other ‘‘criminals’’ during the home secretary-level talks with Islamabad here.
On reports of terror camps in PoK, Mulford indicated that the US wanted to see them disbanded and said the matter had been taken up by President George W Bush with President Pervez Musharraf.
On Indo-US relations, Mulford pointed out that New Delhi and Washington would have to trudge through ‘‘delicate, complicated procedures’’ to go through with the recent pact on civilian nuclear energy.
