CHANDIGARH, May 29: DAV Club blanked Government Model School, Sector 47, 6-0 and Nine Famous Club beat Seven Star 7-2 to enter the semifinals in the junior boys group of the 6th Chandigarh state junior and sub-junior softball championship at DAV College, Sector 10 here today.

DAV Club will face Star Club who defeated Bhavan Vidyalaya 12-6. The other semifinal will be played between Nine Famous Club and Chandigarh Club.Chandigarh Club outplayed Valley Club 11-1.

For DAV Club, Sunder got 2 points while Ravi, Nimit, Anup and Vijay got one each.

Shammi (3) and Jatinder (3) contributed to the Chandigarh Club’s victory over Valley Club in the match today. Navdeep (2), Ashutosh (2) and Ajay (1) were the other scorers for the team. Ajay scored the lone goal for Valley Club.

In the junior girls section, Valley Club won both their league encounters. In the first contest they got the better of Government Model School, Sector 47, 17-5 while in the second they beat Bhavan Vidyalaya 4-0.

Bhavan Vidyalaya also suffered defeat by loosing both their league matches in the sub-junior girls category.
