NEW DELHI, April 27: Ashu Dani, who has been riding high in the past week or so, seems to have developed a special liking for the MCD Sports Complex ground. His prolificacy came to the fore yet again when the Delhi Ranji Trophy batsman hit his third successive century to take JN Golden into the semi-finals as they downed Bright Club by 25 runs in the Lala Hariram memorial day-night cricket last night.Every time he hit a century, he had ensured that his team won. And yesterday was no different. Winning the toss, JN Golden decided to use the track first but despite Padamjeet Sehrawat's 45 and Parinder Sharma's 27, the team seemed to be in trouble with 85 for three. But Dani played a blistering game and in the company of Surinder Singh added 52 invaluable runs for the eighth wicket to take his team's total past the 250 mark.Dani, who faced 70 deliveries, scored 132 which was studded with 11 sixes and eight fours. Leg-spinner Sandeep Angurala was the most successful bowler with two wickets, giving away 30 runs.Chasing 252 for victory, Bright had a reasonably good start with openers Rajesh Anand (20) and Jagdish Singh (87) putting on 32 for the first wicket. But once Anand departed, Jagdish flourished in the company of Pradeep Chawla and the two added 104 runs to raise the vision of a possible victory. However, when the two departed things became rather difficult for the latter batsmen as they simply consumed the overs and managed 226 for the loss of five wickets.Medium-pacer Sruinder Singh captured two wickets for 47 runs.Pusa Triumph: Yogesh Sharma (4 for 14) and Atul Browne (3 for 15) bowled Pusa Youngsters to a 51-run victory over Mohan Meakin in the A-I division match of the DDCA League at the Shanti Sports Complex here today.Put in on a track that was lively, Pusa Youngsters were shot out for 175 in 33 overs. Yogesh Sharma was the topscorer with 39 while contributions came from Mohammad Rashid and Vinay. Former Haryana leg-spinner Rajinder Madan was deadly with an excellent spell of three for 19 to send Pusa Youngsters for cover.Chasing none-too-impossible target, Meakins failed to capitalise on the chance provided by their bowlers and wilted under the guile of Yogesh Sharma and Atul Browne to be shot out for 124 in 29.3 overs. Kamal topscored with 25.
