Krishna, a dance ballet, will bring on centre stage Krishna’s fascinating personality & his statesmanlike qualities

Wise and valorous, loving and loved, farsighted yet living for the moment, gifted with sage-like detachment and yet intensely human, the diplomat, the sage and a man of action with a personality as luminous as that of a divine…the various facets of Krishna and his life will be brought on stage in a dance drama that promises to be spectacular. Presented by Shri Ram Bharatiya Kala Kendra, according to director Shobha Deepak Singh, the divinity of the butter-stealing thief of Vrindavan is a newer phenomenon and the human follies of Krishna of Mahabharata are more ancient. Through Krishna, the dance ballet, which will be staged on November 27 at the Indradhanush Auditorium, Krishna’s statesmanlike qualities, the pivotal message of Gita, the Chakradhari Krishna, who undertook leadership qualities, but by virtue of which he became susceptible to divine folly, will be for all to absorb. You can also look forward to lesser-known incidents from the Mahabharata, as there has been a conscious attempt to step out of the groove of blind faith and throw many questions of relevance and a plethora of topics for discussion that are universal and timeless. While violence is deeply embedded in the plot, it is the manner of securing harmony in bloodless ways that is significant and solutions to the carnage are offered on the same battlefield. The Kurukshetra war continues and the message of victory and redemption is more pertinent today than ever before.
