The BCCI president, Jagmohan Dalmiya, today discussed the ICC contract issue with senior players and said that another round of ICC-BCCI parleys was likely to be held in India soon to evolve a solution before the coming World Cup.

“We touched on several important matters. The contract issue was one of them,” Dalmiya told newspersons but refused to divulge details on the grounds covered during the discussion on the contract issue.

“The nature of the discussion was such as is natural between players and administrators,” the BCCI chief said after his hour-long talks with skipper Saurav Ganguly, vice-captain Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar at the NSC Bose international airport here just before the Indian squad’s departure for New Zealand. Dalmiya said that the issue of appointing a bowling coach for the Indian team also came up during the discussions. Dalmiya said that he was in constant touch with all the concerned parties to settle the issue. The controversial players’ terms agreement had emerged as a major problem prior to the Champions Trophy in Sri Lanka in September.
