MUMBAI, July 21: The police today found the getaway car used in the robbery of a Dadar cooperative bank and the rifle stolen from the bank's security guard.Posing as customers four armed unidentified men barged into the Indira Sahakari Bank off Bhavani Shankar Marg in Dadar (W) late Monday night. Brandishing choppers and a gun at the bank staff, the guard and some stray customers, they robbed Rs 20 lakh in cash which was collected from the bank's various branches and escaped after attacking the guard and a staff member. Senior inspector Uday Shinde from the Dadar police station said a special police squad investigating into the case found the gray Maruti car abandoned near Canara Bank on Moghul Lane in Mahim early this morning. ``The robbers had used a stolen vehicle,'' he revealed.The squad also recovered the 12 bore rifle snatched from the bank's guard Rajesh Mishra and the black leather bag in which the cash was carried away. Mishra was seriously injured when a robber attacked him with achopper.Meanwhile, police sources said Mishra's condition was stable after he was admitted to KEM Hospital. The special police team is following some vital leads, sources added.
