Dacoits’ gang busted; five arrested

The district police on Tuesday claimed to have busted a gang of robbers with the arrest of five persons identified as Sanju Kumar, Ajay Kumar, both hailing from Kathmandu but living in Amritsar, Nirmal Singh of Main Bazaar, Mustfabad, Rohit Kumar of Akash Vihar and Davinder Sharma of Jawahar Nagar. The police have recovered an axe, a dagger and two sharp-edged weapons from the accused. The accused were arrested from Mustfabad Kotla Basti. A case under sections 399 and 402 of the IPC has been registered at Sadar police station.
