MOGA, Aug 9: The defaulter millers, who were facing criminal cases and had been granted bail, would not be allowed to do custom milling, if they failed to provide levy rice of custom milling.This was announced by Punjab Food and Supplies Minister Madan Mohan Mittal at a meeting presided over by officials of procurement agencies, deputy commissioners, additional deputy commissioners, arhtiyas and rice-sheller owners of Moga, Ferozepur, Muktsar and Faridkot, held here last evening.Director, Food and Supplies, Punjab, was also present. The meeting was held to make fool-proof arrangements for the procurement of paddy during the coming season.Mittal and Director, Food & Supplies, assured all kinds of facilities in the grain markets by the end of August. They urged the procurement agencies to educate farmers through panchayats to bring their paddy after drying so that agencies could procure it under specification.
