MUMBAI, June 10: Cussons India, a subsidiary of global soaps giant Cussons International, has bought out Procter & Gamble’s Ezee, Trilo and Key detergent brands. The acquisition is expected to the help the company — which recently unveiled its Imperial Leather toilet soap in the local market — to expand its presence in India.

A statement issued by the company, however, did not give any details on the sale price or the date on which the sale took place. The divestment by P&G is a result of a re-look at their business which indicated that Trilo, Ezee and Key do not fit in with its long term strategic plans in India. Laundry and cleaning products continue to be their focus areas in India. The three brands were originally acquired by P&G from Godrej Soaps in 1993.
