Indefinite curfew was imposed in Vadtal after 1,500-odd followers of Ajendraprasad, deposed acharya of Swaminarayan sect, barged into the temple complex and damaged property. Six people were injured in the incident. Police said five persons have been arrested.

Tension had been brewing in the town since morning. Around 5.30 pm, a mob of Haribhakts broke open the massive doors of the temple complex and ransacked the premises. They were returning from a rally organised by the deposed camp. Kheda SP Manoj Aggarwal said the crowd was immediately flushed out of the complex.

Tension has been brewing following the removal of Ajendraprasad by the Nautam Swami group, replacing him with acharya Rakeshprasad.
