Liquor haul
The police on Saturday claimed to have recovered 150 bottles of IMFL worth Rs 12,240 from a house in Gayatri Park Society and arrested one person in this connection. Liquor was hidden at various places in the backyard of the house and it took a tough time for the police to recover the entire stock during a raid, police said.
Theft
Gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 12,000 were allegedly stolen from the house of Suhail Ismail Patel, a resident of Akota Masjid area on Saturday, police said. According to them, Raeesha Patel, Mushtaq Ali Patel, Hussainwali Khanna and Yunus Farooq, all residents of Akota came to the residence of Suhail and stole the ornaments. The J P road police have registered a case and begun investigations.
In another incident, cash of Rs 16,000 and gold ornaments worth Rs 28,200 were allegedly stolen from the house of Jayantilal Hiralal Patel residing in Nand complex. The police said that Patel, who works as divisional manager of New India Insurance Company at Anand, had gone to sleep at 12.30 after watching TV. Thieves entered into his house through the kitchen window by removing its frame and decamped with cash and ornaments, police added.
