IMFL seized
The City police station sleuths seized Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 34,000 during a raid at a transport company office on Wednesday night. According to the police, one Dipubhai Lalchandani had brought IMFL from Mumbai without valid permits and kept it in the office of Naranji Transport in Kalupura-Machchipeeth. He has been arrested.

Loan default
The Fatehgunj police registered a case of cheating against a businessman for not repaying loan installments which he took in 1996 for purchasing some machinery. According to the police, the businessman took a Rs 97,565 loan from the Bank of India’s Sama Road branch on March 26, 1996 which was to be repaid in installments of Rs 2,600 per month. However, the loanee had not paid even a single installment till date. When he did not give any satisfactory reply to notices issued by the bank, branch manager O P Nigam lodged a cheating case against him on Thursday.

Robberies
Gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 34,200 were reported stolen from Praveenchandra Jaiswal’s house in Tarun Nagar Society near Chhani Jakat Naka last night. According to the police, the incident occurred between 2 p.m. on November 3 and 1.30 p.m. on November 4, when Jaiswal was attending to his ailing wife in SSG Hospital. In another case of house-break, welding machine and steel goods worth Rs 12,000 were stolen from a shop in Panigate, police said.
