Woman says she was kidnappedOne Usha Raghunath Patil, a resident of Sanjaynagar slums, complained to the the Limbayat police on Sunday night that she was forcibly taken to Mahuva village in Uttar Pradesh in an autorickshaw by one Dharma and his wife on July 15. She also claimed that the two snatched her gold chain worth Rs 17,000. The complainant and the two accused returned to their houses on Saturday evening. While a cross complaint registered in the same police station by Rama Rajgar, a resident of Sanjaynagar slum, said that Sanjay Patil, Rajendra Patil, Pintu Patil, one Nariya and 10 others rushed into Rajgar's house and damaged his TV, VCR and other goods. Cases under sections of the IPC have been registered in the police station.Five arrestedFive people, who had looted a jeep driver on July 12 on the Surat Mangrol Road have been arrested, the district police said on Monday. Hanif Asraf Malek, a resident of Valod, Mehboob Asraf Malek of Sival, Pardi, Yusuf rahim residing at Valod, Taj Mohammed alias Taju Sabir Mohammed of Nilapondi and Farooq Abdul Shaikh of Valod were arrested by a LCB team under the supervision of DSP V M Pargi. The five had looted and injured the youth on the night of July 12. The LCB said that the five were produced before a magistrate and remanded to police custody for four days.Burns deathOne Kamu Subhash Patil, a 35-year-old resident of Beksit village of Vyara taluka died on Monday in the New Civil Hospital where she was admitted on Sunday afternoon with burn injuries. A case registered under CrPC 174 said that the woman was making food on a stove when a part of her saree fell on the burning stove, catching fire instantaneously.
