Refusal to paint an auto-rickshaw cost a painter Shaukat Ali (25) his life on July 26 at Byculla.Around 1.30 pm on Saturday, Abdul Rashid Ayub Sheikh (22), an auto driver approached Ali to paint his rickshaw but he refused. The altercation that ensued led to Sheikh stabbing the latter on the left side of his chest. On realising the gravity of the situation he escaped. Ali was immediately removed to the J J Hospital where he died while receiving treatment, police said. Sheikh, meanwhile is at large, they added.Trader robbedFour unidentified persons threatened a Khetwadi steel trader Omprakash Kamanno at gunpoint and robbed him of Rs 2 lakh cash on Saturday. They also took away his gold chain and bracelet before fleeing. The police are on the look out for the foursome who are still at large.
