Stolen car rcovered; two held
The police have arrested Sector 46 resident Salinder Singh and Sector 45 resident Sukhjit Singh for allegedly stealing a car which also has been recovered from their possession. Police sources said the car was recovered by the Patiala police.

Three held for carrying liquor
City police have arrested three persons on charges of carrying liquor without permit in three separate cases. Police said Roopnagar resident Dilbara Singh was arrested from near the SAS Nagar barrier and 12 bottles were recovered from his possession. In a separate case, Akram Khan of Kharar in Roopnagar district was held from near the turn of Sector 39 and 12 bottles were seized from him.

In another case, Jagir Singh of Roopnagar was nabbed from the Dadumajra village turn. He was carrying 10 bottles. Police have registered separate cases under the Excise Act.

Two Panchkula residents hurt
Two persons were seriously injured when a bus hit their scooter near Nada Sahib here today. The accident occurred at around 9 a.m. and the injured have been admitted to the Sector 6 General Hospital here.

Panchkula: The employees of Canara Bank in Chandigarh yesterday donated notebooks, school bags and geometry boxes to 22 children of `Balsadan’, a home for destitute children at Haripur village in Panchkula. These were distributed by M. Gokuldas, Deputy General Manager of Canara Bank, Circle office, Sector 34-A, Chandigarh. The donation was arranged under `Tram Campaign’, according to which bank employees voluntarily contribute three rupees a month for undertaking such welfare activities.
