CR to run 24 holiday specials

MUMBAI, SEPT 16: Central Railway will be running 24 puja specials between Mumbai and Howrah and 4 Diwali specials between Mumbai and Ernakulam.

The 859 Dn Mumbai-Howrah bi-weekly special will leave CSTM every Monday and Friday from September 21 to 30 at 10.40 pm arriving Howrah at 2.30 on the third day.

The 860 Up Howrah-Mumbai bi-weekly special will leave Howrah every Wednesday and Saturday from September 23 to October 31 at 4.35 pm arriving at 8 am on the third day.

Puja specials will halt at Dadar, Kalyan, Igatpuri, Nasik Road, Manmad, Bhusaval, Akola, Badnera, Wardha, Nagpur, Gondia, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Raigarh, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakradharpur, Tatanagar and Kharagpur stations.

These specials will have 13 coaches including 10 sleeper class one general second class and two general second class cum guard’s brake vans.

The 161 Dn Mumbai-Ernakulam special will leave CSTM on October 10 and 16 at 11.30 pm arriving Ernakulam at 3.05 pm on the third day.

The 162 Up Ernakulam-Mumbai specialwill leave Ernakulam on October 12 and 21 at 11.55 pm arriving CSTM at 4.35 pm on the third day.

These specials will halt at Dadar, Kalyan, Karjat, Lonavla, Pune, Daund, Solapur, Gulbarga, Wadi, Raichur, Guntakal, Dharmavaram, Hindupur, Krishnarajapuram, Bangarpet, Tirupattur, Salem, Erode, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Palghat, Shoranur, Trichur and Alwaye stations.

The specials will have 15 coaches including 10 sleeper class, one first class, two general second class, two general second class cum guard’s brakevans.

Meanwhile, CR will also attach additional coaches to existing mail and express trains from September 25 to 31 to clear extra rush. Reservation for all these specials will be available at all computerised reservation offices in Mumbai area from September 15.

Waitlisted passengers will be provided confirmed reservation in additional AC 3-tier and sleeping class coaches stated above. Passengers are therefore advised to check their reservation status before cancelling their tickets.
