NEW DELHI, JULY 18: A crucial two-day meeting of the Communist Party of India’s national executive begins here tomorrow to finalise election strategy and constituencies.
The party will also give shape to its stand on political realignments on the national scene at this meeting, CPI sources said here.
The Communist Party of India has already rejected the idea of maintaining "equidistance" from the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress which two other Left parties, the Revolutionary Socialist Party and Forward Bloc, are pressing for, the sources said.
The national executive will identify the constituencies in different states from where it will contest, it said.
The Communist Party of India (M) will also have a meeting of its politbureau on July 23 followed by a two-day session of the central committee.
