It’s placement season at Indian School of Business and consultancy majors are flocking in droves. Unlike previous years, many international and domestic majors are offering jobs now.

ISB sources said 80 per cent of the total 273 students have been interviewed and have got multiple offers. Interviews for the remaining students are expected to conclude in two to three weeks, they added.

According to them, the novelty this year is multinational consultancy majors offering plum jobs. The deals are almost sealed and students are waiting for the final offer letters.

In the past, IT consultancy jobs were the flavour, officials added.

Another interesting trend is that both multinational as well as domestic companies have not only come up with domestic offers but also with sizeable number of overseas offers.

The ISB management has asked the lucky ones to decide on their choice at the earliest so that others could do their own pickings.

Some of the major MNCs leading the head-hunting pack include consultancies such as Goldman Sachs, Ernst & Young, AT Kearney, BCG (Boston Consulting Group), Inductis, Colgate Palmolive, Coke, Johnson & Johnson, LNM, Deutsche Bank, Novartis, HSBC, Carrier Aircon, Euro Swiss, Marakon, Lupin Laboratories, Birla Soft, Satyam, Asian Paints, HCL, ITC and others, the officials said.

Interestingly, while many MNCs are offering Indian offers, Indian companies are dangling the foreign posting carrot. Some of the companies which made Indian offers include BCG, AT Kearney, Ernst & Young, Colgate Palmolive, Coke and J&J, while the international offers were made by companies like LNM, Deutsche Bank, Novartis, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, Carrier Aircon, Euro Swiss and Marakon.

Indian companies that made international offers include Lupin Laboratories, Birla Soft, Asian Paints, HCL, Satyam, ITC, among others, sources said.

The average salary during this year will be much higher as compared to the previous session.

Last year, the international package had seen a growth of 46 per cent at $151,000. The domestic offers were in the range of Rs 5.5-20 lakh.
