PUNE, Feb 12: Even while the argument over the State Government's allocation of donation of Rs 25 lakh for the Marathi Sammelan is yet to subside, a similar controversy over giving donation for the Akhil Bharatiya Marathi Natya Sammelan to be held in Pimpri next week has come to the fore.Shiv Sena MLA Gajanan Babar representing the Haveli constituency has made a demand to Chief Minister Narayan Rane that the Government should not give the donation amount of Rs 15 lakh for the theater meet, charging that the occasion of theater meet was being used by the local Congress party leaders to promote their own party interests. The theater meet is to be held between February 15 and 17. Congress leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sharad Pawar is scheduled to inaugurate the event. In a statement, Babar said that the dates for holding the theater meet were changed two times for making it convenient for Pawar to inaugurate the event. Most of the persons in the reception committee of the theater meet belong to the Congress party, Babar said.
