CHANDIGARH, July 12: A large number of Congressmen today staged a dharna in Sector 32 here, highlighting the failure of the Municipal Corporation and the inefficiency of the Chandigarh Administration in handling various public problems.
The dharna was part of the month-long agitational programme of the local Congress, where Congressmen also lamented the price rise.
Addressing workers, Chandigarh Territorial Congress president Pawan Kumar Bansal condemned the BJP government for its failure to control price-rise. He also charged the Municipal Corporation for mismanagement and for its "lack of will" to serve the needy.
Bansal also criticised the Administration for the deteriorating law and order situation in the City.
Among others who spoke on the occasion, included Subhash Chawla, Surinder Bhatia, Parampal Matharoo, O.P. Verma, Jagdish Singh and Subhash Kataria.
