The Congress party continued with its truce overtures towards Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS), which has threatened resignation of party ministers K. Chandrashekhar Rao and A. Narendra from the Union government if the Congress does not commit for a separate state of Telangana.TRS leaders who held a meeting with Defence Minister Pranab Mukherjee, Digvijay Sinagh and Ahmad Patel has agreed to wait for another day, when the Congress leadership tries to work out a solution. TRS leaders will meet other UPA leaders and Left leaders on Tuesday. The Congress is citing the Left opposition to Telangana as a reason for the delay in the formation of the state, which has been promised in the UPA's NCMP. Digvijay Singh said the Congress could not seek the support of the BJP and would instead work towards conensus among supporting parties.“We want an open, concrete and time-bound assurance from the Congress president or the prime minister on the question of the formation of Telangana,” TRS leader said.Earlier in the day, Digvijay Singh met K. Chandrashekhar Rao but his proposal - that the Congress will, through a statement declare its intention for the formation of Telangana through "conensus" and till that time "focus on the development of the region" - was unacceptable to the TRS. "If the Congress supports Telangana, it will be a reality. If they do not, our ministers will resign from the ministry on Tuesday and start agitation," said Harish Rao, a TRS MLA after the Digvijay-KCR meeting. Digvijay said KCR was also expected to meet the PM on Tuesday. "We want the TRS to be part of the development of Telangana. The UPA has not even completed half its term. There is enough time for the implementation of the CMP commitment.”
