Highlighting the ‘‘Congress sacrifice’’, JKPCC chief Ghulam Nabi Azad today said giving up of chief ministership to Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was in the interest of nation. Advocating a peaceful dialogue process between India and Pakistan, Azad said the Congress, if elected to power at the Centre will broaden the dialogue process.Azad said had the Congress tried to create hurdles in supporting Sayeed, he (Mufti) would have left mainstream politics. ‘‘Shiekh Abdullah was out of national mainstream politics for about twenty years and it was the Congress which brought him back to mainstream,’’ he said, adding the Congress has always been working for sake of national interest. He said the Congress and it’s allies are heading towards a victory in the elections both in the state and Centre.
