PANCHKULA, July 21: The District Congress Committee (legal cell) has demanded an environment court in Panchkula.

According to committee chairman Vijay Bansal, the forest area falling in Panchkula district includes Morni, Bilaspur and Chachrauli and it is here that much environment related crime is committed. For complaints and redressal the people have to go to Hisar which caters to the needs of this district.

There is another court in Faridabad, but that does not concern this area. The offences committed include mining, crushers, factory pollution, damage to wildlife, tree felling etc.

The people face a lot of problems in travelling to Hisar, which not only leads to wastage of time but also a lot of money is also involved, Bansal said.
