The Madhya Pradesh government has sent a ‘‘conditional no-objection certificate’’ to the Centre on disposal of hazardous chemical waste from the Union Carbide plant here, state Environment and Urban Administration and Development Minister Babulal Gaur said today.
‘‘The state government has sent the conditional no-objection (NOC) certificate on waste disposal from Union Carbide plant to the Union Ministry of Chemicals,’’ Gaur said at a press conference.
Refusing to accept financial burden, the state demanded the waste should be disposed off as per standards set by a Central organisation specialising in such matters. Also, the company would be held responsible in the event of loss of (property or human lives/livestock), MP government mentioned in the ‘‘conditional NOC,’’ said Gaur.
