The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today told a Ghaziabad court that Krishna, the compounder of Dr Rajesh Talwar, had confessed to his involvement in the murders of Arushi and Hemraj. The CBI did not specify the nature of his involvement. The agency told the court that Krishna confessed, under Section 161 of CrPC, that Hemraj had asked him for a khukri and it was given to him on May 14. Krishna, the CBI told the court, visited Hemraj at Talwar’s residence around midnight on May 15. Arushi was found murdered on May 16 morning. The investigating agency told the court that Krishna had said that he could help find Arushi’s mobile phone and the murder weapon. Sapna Mishra Tripathi, Special Judicial Magistrate, CBI Court, Ghaziabad, extended Krishna’s remand today by six days. CBI counsel R K Saini told the court the agency needed a few more days to crack the case as Krishna had not been cooperating with the investigators. “We need some more time to recover the weapon of offence which we believe Krishna will lead us to,” he said. The prosecution said Krishna was subjected to polygraphy, narco analysis and brain mapping tests. “The CBI found that Krishna’s statements were not satisfactory. The evidence collected by the CBI has been sent to CFSL. Krishna, however, acknowledged that he was one of the parties involved in the murder,” Saini said. “As the agency has recovered evidence related to the crime from Krishna and still has to recover the mobile phone and other evidence, the remand should be extended,” argued Saini. Krishna’s lawyer F C Sharma said he was being falsely implicated. “The CBI is unable to recover anything substantial from him,” he said.
