Coal transport: 3 top Tata Steel officials named in FIR

An FIR has been filed against three senior officials of the Tata Steel on the charges of transporting coal illegally and causing losses to the state Government.

An FIR has been filed against three senior officials of the Tata Steel on the charges of transporting coal illegally and causing losses to the state Government. The FIR, registered with the Mandu police station in Ramgarh district, however does not mention the exact amount of alleged losses in monetary terms. It was filed by the Jharkhand Government’s Assistant Mines Officer, Rameshwar Rana, on December 20.

The Tata Steel officials named in the FIR are CMD V Muthuraman, Chief Financial Controller (corporate) V S N Murthy and GM A K Ojha. Despite several attempts, none of the Tata Steel officials named in the FIR could be contacted.

Daroga Rai, Inspector (Mines), Daneshwar Mahato, a vehicle owner, Bhagwan Sao, an employee of the Mines department and Hiraman Sharma, a driver, have been named as witnesses.
