ARANTHANGI, July 20: The Subramaniapuram Primary Agricultural Cooperative Bank staff have alleged to have siphoned off Rs 35 lakh between 1990-1995 by preparing false documents in the names of those either dead or working abroad for loans. In some cases, signatures of the farmers who had repaid loans were forged and in some others, false receipts were issued to farmers who had repaid loans. The government has ordered an probe into the matter.
