MUMBAI, April 18: Following protest by the controversial Shiv Sena leader and former Agriculture Minister Shashikant Sutar, the Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government today transferred Chief Minister Mahohar Joshi's secretary Nanasaheb B Patil to the health department in the same capacity. Last week, Sutar, who was indicted by the Puranik Committee and subsequently exonerated by the Dudhat Commission, had alleged that officials who were encouraging anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare, were occupying top positions in the chief minister's office. After Joshi tabled the Dudhat Commission report, Sutar had reiterated his demand for Patil's transfer, saying he will personally meet the chief minister in this connection.Sutar had alleged that Patil, who was then the water conservation secretary, had allotted prime training work to Hazare's Hind Swarajya Trust instead of awarding it to the government-run training centre. However, a senior official said that even before the demand was made bySutar, Patil had urged the chief minister to shift him to some other department.
