New Delhi, May 15: Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party of radically shifting away from India's nuclear policy and jeopardising India's relations with its neighbours, the CPI(M) today demanded that the BJP government openly declare that it will not induct nuclear weapons. The CPI(M) Politbureau, which met here for the first time after this week's nuclear tests, said the government should give a categorical assurance that it will not make any compromise on the economic front in the face of Western pressures. The party described PM A B Vajpayee decision to write to U S President Bill Clinton explaining his government's position while keeping the Indian people and political parties in the dark a ``matter of great indignation.'' The BJP, with no real mandate and a precarious majority, had effected a reversal in India's foreign policy, a top CPI(M) leader said.
