ISLAMABAD, MAY 2: Pakistan today differed with the US dubbing Kashmiri militants as terrorists and demanded that the definition of terrorism be clarified.

"There is a difference of understanding (in Pakistan and the United States) who is a terrorist. The definition of terrorism needs to be clarified," Pakistan’s chief executive Gen Pervez Musharraf told reporters here.

He did not agree with the US state department’s notion that Kashmiri militants were terrorists.

"No. Definitely not," Musharraf said when asked if he agrees with the US that Pakistan-based Kashmiri groups are involved in terrorism.

The US State Department, in its latest annual report, admonished Islamabad for aiding and abetting terrorists in Kashmir and for the first time identified Pakistan and Afghanistan as a major hub of international terrorism providing safe haven and support to world terrorist groups.

It, however, stopped short of listing Pakistan as state sponsoring terrorism saying "it (Pakistan) is a friendly state that is trying to tackle the problem."
