The Municipal Corporation, on Thursday, organised Marathon-2008 with a view to promote games and sports in the city. The event, which was flagged off by Mayor Pardeep Chhabra and Municipal Commissioner Dr Roshan Sunkaria from the Sports Complex in Sector 7 culminated at Sukhna Lake. The Mayor, while addressing the marathon runners said the job of the municipal corporation involves providing social service apart from the basic amenities. T P S Phoolka, MC Joint Commissioner, secured the first position in the MC employees’ category. City’s women Net Ball team was given an award for winning the Net Ball championship held in Delhi.
