MUMBAI, JUNE 2: There appears to be an outbreak of cholera in Malwan in the coastal Sindhudurg district and parts of the tribal Dhule district. Twelve persons have died in the two districts.

Health Minister Daulatrao Aher said while eight deaths were reported from Malwan, Kharipada area in Dhule district witnessed four deaths. “So far, more than 320 cholera cases have been reported from Malwan,” Aher said.

Aher said he has asked all the Health Officers of the Zilla Parishads to take preventive measures immediately before the monsoon and ensure that there is no water contamination.
