BEIJING, Aug 6: China today slammed the United States' move to appoint a special coordinator for Tibetan affairs, terming it as interference in its internal affairs.``No one has received an invitation to do such a `favour' to China. No one has even asked China's opinion of such a move, in which the US again takes a hand in another's domestic affairs,'' the official China Daily said in a signed editorial.US secretary of state Madeleine Albright had last week announced that the coordinator would be entrusted with the job of promoting a dialogue between Beijing and the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama.He would also ``seek to protect the unique religious, cultural and linguistic heritage of Tibet promote the cause of human rights, she told the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee. The China Daily said Washington's decision amounted to uninvited interference in its affairs and said the ``only superpower in the world . did it without thinking of another country's dignity as a sovereign nation and its people's feelings.''``It seems untrue that the Americans care more about Tibet than the country of which Tibet is a part,'' it said, adding ``What the Americans really care about is whether they still hold the power to direct another country to do whatever they want it do.''
