The Opposition BJP in Chhattisgarh plans to move a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Ajit Jogi when the Assembly reconvenes on September 23. This will be the first ever no-trust motion to be taken up in the state.

This was decided at a meeting of the BJP legislature party here on Saturday. Consequent to this, a two-member team led by Ajay Chandrakar met Speaker Rajendra Prasad Shukla on Sunday informing him of the BJP’s plan.

‘‘This government has lost people’s trust, thus it should go,’’ said BJP Legislature Party leader Nand Kumar Sai. This will expose the party’s misdeeds, he said.
