CHENNAI, July 28: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has finally been able to convince the Ministry of Defence to sell its 1.27 acre-land near the Chennai airport at Rs 1.27 crore for the purpose of widening the taxii-way, as the present width does not permit movement of large aircrafts. The AAI has approached the Defence Ministry for another 9.62 acres of land for extending the Anna International airport here, to reduce the constraints faced by the airport due to the bunching of flights.
