CHANDIGARH, Dec 3: Eight gymnasts including six in the girls section were selected by the Chandigarh Gymnastic Association, for the forthcoming junior national gymnastic championship to be held at Calcutta from December 22 to 27. The trials were held today at the Shivalik Public School in Sector 41.
More than 20 boys and 15 girls participated in the trials, held in artistic and rhythmic events in the girls group.
The selected boys are Jasdeep Singh (Government Model School-23) and Deepak of Government Model School-20.
Pinky (SD Junior Model School-8), Seeta Rawat (Govt High School-8), Asha Bist (Govt High School-8) and Savitri (Govt Girls School-8) were selected in the artistic event while Kamalpreet and Monika of Shishu Niketan School-22 and Govt Model School-19, respectively, were selected in the rhythmic section. Prabhleen of Govt Model School-10 has also been included in the team (rhythmic).
The selected team would also undergo a coaching camp before their trip to Calcutta.
