Next month’s Champions Trophy in Pakistan has been postponed, an International Cricket Council (ICC) spokesman said on Sunday.
Speaking by telephone from the world governing body’s headquarters in Dubai, the spokesman said: “The Champions Trophy has been postponed until next year.” He said he did not know when or where it would be held.
The decision followed an ICC executive board meeting earlier in the day.
On Friday, South Africa withdrew from the tournament scheduled from Sept. 12-28 because of safety and security concerns.
