A timely knock of 128 by batsman No 8, Jaideep Gharat and his 113-run stand for the seventh wicket with Uday Bhogle enabled Bombay Suburban Electric Supply (BSES) score 322 against Bharat Petroleum.

At one stage, BSES were tottering were 97 for six. Pravin Singh (3-75) and Sanjay Raul (4-59) were the main wicket-takers.

The other centurion of the day was Najmussari Khot, who carried the bat with 125 to his credit in Indian Navy’s total of 274 against Bank of Maharashtra.

The day’s bowling honours went to Union Bank’s medium-pacer Manish Sakhalkar who captured six wickets 57 runs to restrict New India Assurance for 156 for nine declared, which included 32 penalty runs, as Union Bank bowled four overs short.

At draw stumps, Union Bank were 144 for no loss with Ajit Kolte (68) and Sandeep Kotre (66) at the crease.

An unbeaten half century by opener Vivek Kolamkar (51) helped Chowgule score 131 for six in reply to Central Bank total of 125. Goa Ranji left-arm spinner Sayeed Khalil (4-25) was the most successful bowler.

Shot out for 136, State Bank of India hit back to captured five Reserve Bank’s wickets for 112 runs.
