NEW DELHI, November 16: The Centre will not remain a silent spectator if the BJP Government in Uttar Pradesh tries to whip up communal passions by raking up the issues of Ayodhya, Mathura or Kashi, Railway Minister Ram Vilas Paswan warned today.

“The common man today is not bothered about these things but wants development and welfare of the State,” he told newspersons here.“We would like the State Government to better concentrate on issues which are meant for the welfare of the State rather than indulging in a situation which demands the Centre’s intervention,” he said.

Paswan disapproved BJP’s demand for recall of Uttar Pradesh Governor Romesh Bhandari, saying “There should be some logic behind this demand.”He said, “We respect the sentiments of every State Government but just pressing for a demand may not be the sufficient ground for the recall of a governor.”
